28 June: Day Seven Cows, Sheep and Penguins!
A Morning Walk with the Animals
Rebecca and I decided that we wanted to frolic with the animals on our free day with a walk to the lighthouse. Donna, still getting over her cold, stayed at the hotel resting, reading, and painting. Rebecca and I were one of the first out and about in town. Declan had mentioned that the walk to the lighthouse would take us through fields of sheep and cows and we were thrilled! Did I mention that I really like farm animals?
My brilliant daughter had thought ahead to take a photo of the directions Rick has in the guidebook for the "short harbor walk from Dingle." This was perfect so we didn't have to carry the guidebook with us, but could refer back to the directions when it seemed we were going the wrong way. While I would agree with Rick that this is an easy walk, I would add that there are some gates along the way that require a bit of agile movement. If I were to do this again, I would take along a picnic lunch or at least snacks and spend more time along the path.

Our Afternoon Adventures...
Our afternoon was relaxing and fun with a room picnic and MORE animals. Rebecca and I stopped at the grocery store on our way through town after our walk to pick up our picnic supplies. After satisfying our hunger, we felt like we couldn't miss the penguins. So Rebecca and I explored the Oceanworld Aquarium.

Our Evening in Dingle
Dingle is all about the pubs and music, and tonight was no different! We decided to try out a different pub for dinner and ended up at John Benny's. Even though it was a "free day," the group was getting together to enjoy a concert at the Dingle Music Shop. We were so impressed with the musicians again tonight! It was another fun, toe tapping evening. The musicians shared with us that to show your appreciation for the music it is typical to whoop, holler and clap along. The musicians feed off of the enthusiasm of the audience and as the audience gets more into it so do they. I'm such an introvert that on the inside I was loving the music and whooping up a storm in my head, but on the outside all I could manage was toe tapping and clapping!
